I've never engraved ponies on anything larger than a pendant before. As you can see, I hand engraved a different image of Dr. Whooves and Derpy on either side, then antiqued them black so they show up better. The top side also has a small description that reads "All In Good Time", a reminder that all good things come to those that wait. Like season 3
Okay, and so we're clear,
I did not make this hourglass! In order for that to be possible, I'd have to know the art of glass blowing, and that's a whole different profession in itself. I digress. This hourglass is solid brass with dark brown sand. It measures 3" in height and the surfaces I engraved are 1.8 inches in diameter. It's a one minute timer. I tried to get an hourglass that was as close as possible to Dr. Whooves hourglass cutie mark.

I like the Derpy Hooves and the Doctor Whooves on the hourglass, when you en-graved those two, it's very clean and professional.
How do you guys engrave stuff?
